There is a statue of Gandhi at the Forks in Winnipeg right in the center of the laneway just south of the Human Rights Museum. Gandhi looks like he’s out for a brisk stroll with his signature cane and fits right in with the other Winnipeggers walking down the street. What is a statue of Gandhi was doing in Winnipeg?
I discovered the artwork was a gift from the Indian government to the Friends of the Canadian Human Rights Museum in 2004, but it was only unveiled in its permanent spot in June of 2010.

Hi there,
I am currently working on a blog and I reference Gandhi and the banner image you have used here is awesome! Is it yours? Would you be okay sharing it? If it’s not yours, would you happen to know form where it comes and whether it can be used with Creative Commons?
with respect,

Hi MaryLou,
Would it be an imposition to get a copy in higher resolution, as I think the banner does fully convey the depth that I think is there. If not, that is cool 🙂 I will send the link to the blog in which I use it as well.
with thanks,
Richard

Here is the photo at 2.5 MB. Hope that is enough. MaryLou

Hi MaryLou,
That sounds great! I do not – however – see a link. Am I missing something?
